    The Center is a life-span program that provides: independent living skills training, individual counseling, educational groups, job development/placement/ follow-up support, art therapy, computer training/instruction, and a health/nutrition program.

    Mission

    The Mission of the Adaptive Learning Center is to empower adults with a neurodevelopmental disability, and disabilities on the autism spectrum, to realize their individual potential for self-reliant living as defined by the ability to engage in meaningful productive work, to socialize successfully, to attend to their own physical and emotional health and to experience on-going personal growth.

    A Key to Individual Potential.

    The Adaptive Learning Center (ALC) is a non-profit, comprehensive, residential program established in 1988 and located in Concord, California, serving more than 40 adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities referred to more recently as autism spectrum disabilities. The clients have diagnoses such as Asperger?s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-NOS.
