    Marathon’s Martinez Renewable Fuels Facility, in Martinez, CA is currently looking for an experienced Instrument/Analyzer/Electrician Technician–Instrument/Analyzer. Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the I/E/A Technician – Instrument/Analyzer will support the operation of the facility through properly maintaining the instrument and analyzer systems. They will be responsible for the installation, calibration, and maintenance of all instrumentation, including the troubleshooting and repair of instrument and analyzer equipment used throughout the facility.

    Key Responsibilities:
    -Use of various tools and test equipment to perform calibration and maintenance on instrumentation and associated equipment, including transmitters, control valves, solenoid valves, vibration equipment, pressure/temperature/level/flow instruments, PLCs, control systems, and other devices.
    -Ensure that equipment is safely prepared for Maintenance and all documents are in order prior to starting work.
    -Ensure all work is performed in a safe and environmentally compliant manner, adhering to site Health and Safety processes and Environmental regulations.
    -Perform work per applicable technical standards and specifications (Marathon, Industry, or Manufacturer).
    -Execute preventive maintenance activities as part of our Mechanical Integrity Program.
    -Complete all required documentation (work orders, calibration sheets, etc.) in a timely manner.
    -Able to work alone or as a team to accomplish work efficiently and to high quality standards.
    -Effective verbal and written communication and reporting on as-found and as-left conditions. 
    -Expected to train and become proficient on the maintenance of electrical systems, including troubleshooting, repair, installation, and commissioning.

    Education, Experience and Skills
    Minimum Qualifications
    -Must have a high school diploma or GED.
    -Must have completion of a recognized instrument apprenticeship program or trade school or two years of verifiable journeyman level instrument/analyzer work experience.
    -Must have previous experience and knowledge in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of instrumentation. This includes control valves, transmitters (pressure, level, flow, temperature), and other instrument devices (pneumatic, analog, and digital).
    -Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the facility and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field.
    -Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
    -Must obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
    -Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
    -Must be able to support irregular or extended work hours and call-out situations when needed.
    Preferred Qualifications
    -Instrument work experience in a refining, petrochemical, or other related industry preferred.
    -Analyzer experience preferred.
    -Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SAP preferred.
